I've played the old aitd games and liked them alot. i never understood why they didnt become as popular as the Resident Evil series.

The series has always been an underdog. I liked Aitd4 alot. IMO it was nice mix between Resident Evil and Silent Hill. It had pre-rendered bg's like the old RE's but also contained complete darkness like SH.

Lets see what 5 has in store for us. You have to admit that the released footage looks interesting.

I often wonder why they never rose through the ranks either. I guess Resident Evil just got more of a reception, and the rest as they say, is history.

i think the game is worth the wait...it did not become popular because it was not marketed as a survival horror, as Capcom aggresively did with Resident Evil, but as Adventure/Mystery/Thriller sort of game...but i believe these games here did started the survival horror genre...and really one of best games I've played especially the first one, and i have all four games...so I cannot wait till AITD 5 comes out...

Alone in the dark 5 looks very interesting. With the most recent trailer, it gives me the image of lost hope, plus the visuals are good. I want to know how why our beloved protaganist is in the modern worlds at the same age than he is from the early 20th century.
