I'm not sure if it's just a US thing or what, but buying just the HD compatible TV doesn't mean that you'll get HD when you turn it on.

My dad bought one, turned it on and was surprised that the picture wasn't in HD. He called the store where he bought it from and they told him that you have to subscribe with your cable or satellite provider in order to get the HD signal.

You also have to be careful when your moving the tv around (depending on what kind it is). Whenever we move our tv around for cleaning, you have to wait 5 minutes for the cyrstals in the screen to settle down in order to turn it back on, and if you leave something on the screen for too long, it will burn the image onto the screen.

Hey Dama remember me from Shenmue Dojo?

I would recommend the Westinghouse 37 inch 1080p lcd monitor. It's only available here in the states, but it is an awesome set! Many buy it to use it as an "all in one" type of monitor.

It can be used as a pc display with a resolution of 1920x1080p and console gaming. It has two dvi inputs, component, vga, s-video and hdmi. What also makes it attractive is the price which is around $1000 in U.S currency. The only downside with this set isn't good with SD content and no tuner is included. When I say SD it would mean 480p or 480i, the picture quality won't look that great with a console like the wii. If you can somehow import this then go for it.

'I need a new TV'

Took the words clean from my mouth. At the moment were building a TV room as an extension to the kitchen. A big 42 incher wouldnt look too bad up on the wall.

I played my 360 on my 27" not hdtv and it looked wonderful. I played my older bro's 360 on his 51" hdtv and it looked basically the same. I see no reason for me to upgrade so I will continue to use my old symphonic. besides, I'm obsessed with wii right now so I don't really need to worry so much about the resolution of the tv.

You need to be watching HD channels to see the effect. HD only channels will let you see the effect on a HD enabled TV.

I want to be safe for the future. And there's a diffrence between HD ready and FullHD.
