In total you get to play six characters (including one ill-fated guy in the beginning) and they all have some special ability. For example, Ashley can do multiple gun shots, while Stan can unlock doors in a matter of seconds. When you go to work on a door, monsters usually appear right there, so it can be handy knowing how to get out of dodge quickly. As far as I know, Obscure II is a proper follow up, reuniting characters from the first game in a college. |

The Crimson Heads were scary, especially as you didn't know when they were going to suddenly jump up. On top of that, if you didn't have any kerosene, you're screwed. It's just a shame they've not remade any of the first 3 games yet because it compromises the canonicity.
