I think it was a highlight personally, but it wasn't just exclusive to RE3. In RE1 also, if you decided to get the MO disks or not, it triggered different endings, it just wasn't so implicit as in RE3.
I do believe it shouldn't have carried on into other games though; the choices but the split decisions sort of took away the feel of RE to me.

There are more than one in RE1.
You can choose to give Barry his gun back or not in REmake. In the original you can choose if Barry goes ahead in the caves or if he covers you if I remember well. Personally I love the life selection in RE3 because every choice you make changes the story. Par example: if you choose to push Nemesis off the bridge (near the Dead factory) Nemesis will kill Nicholai. If you decide to jump off Nicholai gets to the chopper first. Then you can choose again if you negotiate with him or take down the chopper. You will also meet Carlos in a different place. |
