I agree. I won't close the thread, because debate about RE4 is part of what keeps RE forums going. XD
I think RE4 is a poor game in terms of story. I like the gameplay, very enjoyable, but overall, it's just a very poor game compared to the quality of games we're used to getting in the RE4 franchise. God knows where that second guy is looking, because 80% of the RE fanbase hates RE4. I'm not even paying attention to that, because it's obvious he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Yeah, like I said in another post I do love RE4, but not for the same reasons I loved the originals. I really like the new gameplay set up, and I don't mind that there's intelligent(kindof) enemies as it does make sense for Umbrella to search for a new type of human bioweapon besides the mindless zombies of old. But really without the puzzles and exploration it's just not right. I said it once and I'll say it again, RE4 should have been the side story, and RE:CV should have been the true 4.

bottom line is , RE4 marks the beggining of the end for a franchise that was once great , but has fallen its grace in favor for "OMG SHOOT IT SHOOT IT MORE HAR HAR HAR" peeps.
"Once again you've stepped into the world of survival horror." ; If only CAPCOM realised the irony in all of this... at least DEAD SPACE is creepy , i mostly found myself yawning throughout RE4...
