The epilogue for RE: OUTBREAK shows a new Umbrella Research lab built on top of the ruins of Raccoon city, and a pilot photographing what seems to be new creatures of some sort.
1. Does anybody think that this new research lab could have anything to do with future RE games? Perhaps its one of the Umbrella Strongholds mentioned in Umbrella Chronicals...
2. Could these creatures be the ones seen (well, you see their shadows) in the RE5 trailer?

I've always assumed that the creature that they were talking about was Thanatos because unless the survivors used the Daylight on him, there isn't any other way to kill him. We know this becuase if you watch the bad Kevin/Jim pair ending, Thanatos regains consciousness and charges them again, and Peter tells us this in one of his files that the only way to eradicate the 'T' is to use Daylight.

Honestly, I don't know how a regular zombie could survive due to the fact that Raccoon was bombed with nukes (presumably). The only other explanation would be that some were trapped underground and managed to make their way to the surface after the explosions, but even then I'm skeptical because the craters in that cut-scene were awfully deep.

I bought Outbreak at release and was a bit let down, but still it was a decent game, I must give File 2 a try. Shame they closed the servers....
