I just ordered Silent Hill 2 for PC as I do not have an xbox or playstation. I've even downloaded the soundtrack! I love the ambient, haunting music. Maria has got to be my all-time favorite character. I always fall for the seductresses. Alot of the game is meant for interpretation as the characters and bosses are "manifestations" of blocked emotions and memories.

How has the silent hill series affected you?

Let's just say that SH2 is hands down the best SH game that has been launched. It deviates even if slightly from the whole "Alessa" story , which to be honest was becoming rather predictable even for me as i was finishing up SH1.
SH2 is my favorite SH game , mainly because it doesnt focus much in the combat in itself , but rather on its deep , troubled plot. It is an extremely great game , and im just disappointed that the SH movie was such shit , it should've been James' story there , and not some blonde nobody like that Rose chick or whatever was her name...Silent Hill series have a corner in my heart reserved , and especially SH2 , which in my honest opinion is probably the most well conceived survival horror game ever made , simply because it is from every survival horror game ive played so far , the one that is more close to the genre , rather than just "OH SNAP MORE 358963796837689357876 HANDGUN BULLETS IM GONNA OWN THESE CLOSERS NOW FO'SHO KEKEEKEKEKEKKEK".

I hope you love SH2 as much as i did and still do , its worth every penny you spend buying it......hell , its worth double what you've payed for it.
Oh , and uh......DESPAIR when you encounter Pyramid Head.
